Atletico Ends Season in Grand Style

  Two goals in either halves courtesy Antione Griezmann as well as an 89 th minute finish from Gabi ensured that Atletico Madrid ended the 2017/2018 season with a silverware as they defeated Marseille in the Europa League final at Lyon. Fergie Leaves Intensive Care

The most successful coach in premier league has been discharged from intensive care this evening according to a post on Manchester United's twitter handle. It reads in part, "Sir Alex no longer needs intensive care and will continue rehabilitation as an inpatient." Photo Credit:  BT.com It could be recalled that Sir Alex, 76, had an emergency surgery for brain haemorrhage at Salford Royal Hospital on Wednesday and had since been receiving round-the-clock intensive care. The former manager retired from his role at United in 2013 and became a director after 26 years in charge and remains the most successful manager in British football history. Atletico ends Arsenal's hope of silverware

A Diego Costa goal at the end of the first half made the difference as Arsenal ends the season without any hope of champions league football next season. Image credit:  au.eurosport.com After a one all draw at The Emirates last week, the gunners knew they had a difficult task ahead of them to play in the Europa Cup final. Sadly, they couldn't break the compact defence of Atletico Madrid. This is no doubt a sad one for their manager of 22 years, Arsene Wenger who would be leaving at the end of the season without any silverware. THE BATTLE OF KYIV

It was a memorable night for Liverpool F.C fans yesterday as they watch their team edge out Roma at Stadio Olimpico on a 7-6 goals aggregate to secure a showdown with 12-time champions, Real Madrid for the champions league final to be determined in Kyiv on May 26, 2018. Image credit:  UEFA.com After missing out of champions league football for some years, Liverpool will be looking forward to winning the trophy they last won in 2007 against AC Milan on a night when the latter was on the verge of lifting the trophy with a three goal lead. On the other side, the defending champions, Real Madrid will be looking to set yet another record in the history of the biggest club cup competition if they defeat Liverpool. A victory will see them extend their record in the competition as the only team to have won 13 times and 3 times consecutively while the victory will also see Zinedine Zidane become the first coach to win it three times in a roll.
